Mission Statement
Founded on the life and spirit of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton and the traditions of the Roman Catholic faith, St. Patrick School strives to educate a diverse urban K-8 student community by offering a challenging academic program in an atmosphere of mutual tolerance and caring.
School Philosophy
We believe St. Patrick School Faculty to be a community of believers who are striving to permeate the school with the love and compassion of Jesus Christ. We, as a Faith Community, have accepted the mandate of Jesus Christ to “Love one another as I loved you.” Faithful to the heritage of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, who is celebrated as being the foundress of the parochial school system in the United States, and building upon the solid foundation established here in St. Patrick Parish over 80 years ago by the Sisters of Charity of Halifax, we affirm their belief that all children are special persons, loved by Almighty God.
Because of that spiritual and academic heritage, we are continuously striving to provide a curriculum at St. Patrick School that enhances the intellectual development of our students, helping each to the realization of his/her potential in a milieu of peace and justice. We aim to help our students grow stronger in their Catholic Faith, developing a strong Christian character leading to good citizenship. We are aware of the opportunity and obligation to be unique, contemporary and oriented to Christian service.
We, as a family, parents, clergy, teachers, administrator and students, desire to make St. Patrick School a community of faith – living, conscious and active!
In living out this philosophy, we pray that St. Patrick’s Catholic School may be known as a place:
- - where poetry dares to speak
- - where the song is sung
- - where art is loved
- - where nature is welcome
- - where little people and little needs come first
- - where justice speaks loudly
- - where the great voice of God still cries out and is heard!
